Job Description
Solutions Integrators are responsible for the deployment and integration of Infrastructure Solution engagements in enterprise environments, providing technical excellence in solutions spanning Storage, Archiving, Computing and virtualization, Data Availability, Protection and Replication, Data Migration, Systems Optimization and Tuning, Database Optimization and Tuning along with Resource and some Systems Management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a progressive IT environment working with production systems and storage infrastructure, preferably at the enterprise level and/or University Degree in Computer Sciences.
- Very strong technical aptitude combined with a willingness to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
- Ability to document problems and solutions that address technical issues.
- Ability to work closely with project managers and senior integration team.
- Willing to attain and maintain technical certifications with our major vendor partners Current and valid certification in relevant areas a significant asset.
- Good understanding of computer hardware builds, configuration and installation.
- Structured cabling experience an asset.
- Strong customer focus with a passion for quality.
Experience:
- Experience with Microsoft product sets, including Exchange, Active Directory, SQL, MVS, SharePoint, MOM etc.
- Experience with Linux and Unix based server platforms (SUN, HP, IBM, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization products, including VMware, Virtuozzo, MVS, VDI, Lab Manager, PolyServe, StorageX, SVC, DMM and TagmaStor
- High Availability solutions including: MC/ServiceGuard, MCS, PolyServe, SUN and VCS HA software products, AIX HACMP, etc.
- Experience with storage systems including disk arrays, SAN, NAS, tape library technology (EMC, EqualLogic, HDS, HP, IBM, NetApp, SUN/STK, etc.)
- Exposure to or experience with systems management tools (i.e. Tivoli (TSM, TADDM, TCM, TPM etc.), HP OpenView suite and EMC SMARTS, SAS ITRM and Compuware Vantage)
- Tools like PlateSpin, Acronis, Tek-tools
- Experience with a tape backup infrastructure platform such as TSM, NetBackup, Legato, CommVault, etc.
- Experience with databases (DB2, Oracle, Oracle RAC, Progress, SQL and Sybase, including backup, replication and data placement, etc.)
- An understanding of networking principles and deployment
- An understanding of backup & recovery principles
- An understanding of security principles
